Abstract:
Integrated magnitudes and colours of population I synthetic clusters have been derived using the theoretical evolutionary tracks fiven by Stothers and Iben and an age-dependent intials mass function (IMF) obtained from the data of Tarrab. A comparision of the theoretically obtained integrated parameters with the observational data of open clusters in the Milky Way and clusters in the LMC has also been made. It is found that the observed dependences show a better agreement with the theoritical dependences obtained in the present woek than the theoritical dependences obtained by earlier authors (Sixon, Ford & Robertson; Searle, Sargent & Bagnuolo; Barbaro & Bertelli and Chiosi, Bertelli & Bressan). It is also concluded that the clusters in the LMC in general show a mean reddening of E(B - V) ≃ 0.12 mag.
