Aerosols are removed from the atmosphere by dry depositon and wet removal. Of these, wet removal is more efficient, primarily because the falling speed of the precipitation greatly exceeds the dry deposition velocity of the particle. A case study is presented on the impact of two isolated and strong thundershowers on the spectral AODs and inferred colummnar size charcteristics.
