The variability in the physical/optical and chemical properties of aerosols showedthe different kinds of dynamical aspects on the regional and globalscales. Thestudies of dynamical aspects of aerosols over a high altitude site have their ownimportance due to its unique topography. In order to get an idea onthe compre-hensive picture on the dynamical aspects of aerosols, we have utilized continuousand simultaneous datasets performed during an Indo-US collaborative project theregional aerosol warming experiment- Ganges valley aerosols experiment (RAWEX-GVAX) field experiment during June 2011-March 2012 over a high altitude siteManora Peak, Nainital (29.4◦N; 79.2◦E; 1958 m above mean sea level (amsl)) inthe central Himalayan region. Apart from these, we have also usedvarious ground-based and space-borne remote sensing techniques to study the different dynamicalcharacteristics of the aerosols i.e. atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), clouds andwaves-induced dyanamics for the first time over the observational site |
