| dc.description.abstract | In view of the vital role of trace gases in atmospheric chemistry, air quality and climate change, this thesis has been aimed to understand the variations in troposheric ozone and its precursor gases such as CO, NOy and hydrocarbons over a high altitude site Nainital located in the central Himalayas and explore their connection to the elevated levels of pollution observed in the Indo-Gangetic Plain by different ground and satellite-based observations. In addition, these measurements are envisaged to be representative of a larger region. A detailed analysis of the observations made has been presented in the Chapters 3-5 and this chapter presents the summary of the results and conclusions drawn from this study, under three main categories as disscussed below. | en_US |
