| dc.description.abstract | Supernovae (SNe) are highly energetic explosions in the Universe. They are the final remark on the end stage of stars. This thesis work aims to analyze the properties of one subclass of SNe known as hydrogen de cient SNe. These SNe are devoid of the hydrogen features in their early time spectral sequence. Hydrogen deficient SNe are further divided into three subtypes, type Ia, Ib and Ic SNe. Type Ia SNe are outcome of thermonuclear burning of an accreting white dwraf (WD). Whereas type Ib and Ic SNe are result of the collapse of the core of a massive star > 8 Msun under its self gravity. We focused to type Ia and type Ib SNe in this thesis and present their photometric and spectroscopic behaviour in optical domain. | en_US |
